England 26,  Australia 16 at Twickenham

England won by 10 points. I predicted England by 7

If ever two major international rugby teams needed to win an international rugby game this is it. Australia has now lost 6 international test matches in a row, a sequenced matched away back in the 1960’s during the dark ages of Australian rugby. Coach Eddie Jones’s job is on the line whilst England’s (and the Lion’s) reputation has been dented since the 2003 Rugby World Cup. This could be the match of the weekend.

Georgia 29, Chile 6 in Tblissi (Intercontinental Cup)

Georgia won by 23 points. I predicted Georgia by 30

Georgia were bitterly disappointed by Uruguay’s no show last weekend and will be out to prove a point or two against the other South American side in Europe. Georgia will not be at full strength being without their France-based players Tedo Zibzibadze, Makho Urjukashvili, Paliko Jimsheladze Bobigny, Akvsenti Guiorgadze, Ilia Zedguinidze, Levan Datunashvili, Guia Labadze, and David Bolghashvili. Chile were not outclassed against European Cup Nation Champions Portugal last weekend and will have improved for the experience.

GWC Rankings: World Table- Uruguay 16th, Portugal 22nd

Prediction: Uruguay by 12 points

THIS WEEKEND SUMMARY (07.11)

What a great weekend of international rugby. New Zealand charged to the top of the GWC Rugby Rankings with an emphatic and record-breaking win over Wales. France was too good for Australia who must be on the verge of a record losing sequence. Botswana and Netherlands joined the elite World Table club on the Rankings whilst Madagascar provided a major upset by shovelling the South African Amature side out of the CAR Division 1 final. Madagascar who thumped the visiting Namibians 49-0 in Casablanca will play Morocco on 24 November. Most punters were originally looking to see a Namibia v South Africa XV final.
