GETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT
AUGUST 2006
THE GAME OF RUGBY IS RAPIDLY EXPANDING WORLD WIDE. THIS WEB SITE'S MAIN FUNCTION IS THE RESEARCHING, COLLECTING, COLLATING, RECORDING AND UPDATING OF INTERNATIONAL RUGBY RESULTS AND RECORDS
This
site is new to me. It should be a most welcomed source of African rugby news
and details that can be difficult to come by. Some of the news is dated 2005
which suggest its been up and running a while.

what you see in pop up advertising. Despite requests for reason to prevail I
have been unable to change this situation. This service to me is free.

New

Belgium 18, Spain 6 in Liege (4 Nations Tournament Final)
Belgium
won by 12 points. I predicted Spain by 16.
This
result is a major international rugby upset. The result is a bir set back for
Spain’s aspirations to make the 2007 Rugby World Cup finals in France next
year.

Madagascar 59, Zambia 18 in Antannaviro (Africa Cup, Group D)
Madagascar
won by 40 points. I predicted Madagascar by 20.
From Sunday Mail of Zambia:
“ZAMBIA'S qualification to
the 2006 Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) Africa Cup suffered a blow when
Madagascar pulverized them in a Group D qualifier in Antananarivo yesterday.
Madagascar now takes the
pole position in the group following their 22-all draw with Zimbabwe in
Bulawayo early this month.
Zimbabwe are Zambia's next
opponents in the final group qualifier billed Lusaka in September.
Zambia now needs to beat
Zimbabwe by a convincing score line if any chances of progressing to the next
stage of the competition were to be entertained.
Veteran
Musonda Kaminsa started it on a positive note for Zambia in the first half when
he placed a try and a conversion but things could not work out after the
break.”
Thanks to “Quentin”, FIRA-AER forum
Madagascar
drew with an improved Zimbabwe side 22-22 earlier this month and defeated
Reunion 63-23 and Old Harareans (Zimbabwe's club) 45-31 in warm-up matches.
Zambia defeated a local combination 29-10 last weekend.
This
is the first time these two nations have meet.

Australia 20,
South Africa 18 in Sydney (Tri Nations)
This was the second
heart-stopper finish for Australia the second week in a row. This time it went
in Australia’s favour-just! A last minute try and conversion salvaged the day
for the Aussies against a determined South African side. The Australians still
have an outsiders chance to take the Tri Nations series but for South Africa
that chance drifted away with that last minute try.
